What streaming service do you use?

Apple has been very keen on Spatial Audio and Lossless for a while that it has now been implemented in the second largest service in the world. Spotify has yet to give its own offering.

I mean this is just a small post that I would like my followers and my readers to answer. You see I have been curious about the type of streaming service K-Pop critics and avid listeners use. This also might solve some quality issues many of us have been experiencing in listening to music. A similar post regarding headphones will be conducted but I guess that will be for a different time now.

Since 2018, I have been using Spotify. I find Spotify highly accessible, fluid, fast and very inexpensive in my country and my devices. However in late 2020, I switched to Apple Music to test it for a brief period of time before returning to Spotify. I always said Apple Music had a better quality while trying it but I was really not into for the higher price. Now in 2021, in an unexpected turn of events. I have decided to stick to Apple Music forever. Like for life. I am leaving Spotify and all of my playlists will have to be transferred to AM.

The thing that made me go back to Apple Music is its announcement of the Lossless and Hi-Res Lossless feature alongside Dolby Atmos support. To be real, I wanted to use Tidal or Amazon Music HD, however I am not covered by their services as a 3rd world country that I live in. As a very audiophile myself I was very shocked that Apple didn’t charge for extra and just made it a whole library upgrade. A total of 20,000,000 songs including Korean music are now available on Lossless and Hi-Res Lossless.

Reminder that this post is not in anyway paid in or for by Apple. I am not promoting Apple or its Music service (although I am a tech fan). I was just simply bewildered by this amazing improvement in their streaming service and a massive upgrade to the world’s second largest streaming service. This will surely force Spotify one way or another. So to wrap things off, what streaming service do you use?

I really love listening to The Chaser in Lossless and Giddy Up in Hi-Res Lossless. It gives me a sense of how proficient their producers have been in mixing, mastering and the sheer creativity of the collective pop music that we all love. I have been waiting for this day and it has finally come. I cannot wait to review some K-Pop in lossless, studio masters. It will surely be interesting.

    1. Very interesting! I really love that. To be honest, I am like that back in the times. However, the pandemic literally changed how I listen to music. MP3 is really great tbh, I like it because I feel secure knowing that I will not lose internet or what. Playlists are also much more easy to do and I am in touch with my library for the most part.

  1. My country is a bit behind on streaming services and they still aren’t popular at all (we only got Spotify recently so I’m pretty sure we only had Deezer before that) so I’ve been pretty much using YouTube or MP3 like I did this whole past decade lol. I got so used to it so I don’t know how I’d start doing something else haha.
