The Korean National and Foreign Press Recording Arts Association (HANGENYE) has finally announced their winners for the 12th Golden Tunes Awards or as I call it the Golden Tunes. The Golden Tunes is composed of South Korean and foreign press whose focus is on the Korean music scene.
The HANGENYE members are from KBS, MBC, SBS, JTBC, TV Chosun, MBN, YTN, SBS MTV, MBC M, Mnet, Newsen, Dispatch, JoyNews24, Soompi, Billboard, Rolling Stone, Variety, MYX, Music!ON, etc. This year’s eligibility period is from November 9, 2020 – October 29, 2021.

Deforested Music 
Not fully surprising, but boy did HYBE dominate the main categories! For all the genre categories though, some truly deserved highlights. Now ignore me jamming to Scared for the 1000th time or so.

You can always jam to Scared. They are really sweeping the Music Video race lately. I mean great for P1HARMONY. This is a major achievement across the board. For the awards, I’m glad you were not really quite surprised because the media voted in this so popularity did have a major effect on the winners. I’m just really fine with the great nominations though, at least they were good in that front.
Beautiful Beautiful still continues to lead Record of the Year with an impressive lead just below Bad Love. Album of the Year has a new frontrunner with TXT taking it from here. I think I can safely say, TXT can sweep the AOTY category this year just like they did with 2019 which their only enemy was OnlyOneOf’s line sun goddess. Please expect more surprises in every field because this year is very fluid. The Best New Artist race is very tight but KINGDOM is still leading tied with Purple Kiss. I think the Critics Circle might help us with the winner for the INSIDERs only if they will pick the proper winner. I just hope.
